The recently closed department store located on Bismarckplatz in Heidelberg has been transformed into a vibrant cultural center. (concept)

  • A spacious Music Hall for diverse performances

  • A modern Art Museum showcasing local and international works

  • Creative Studios for artists and designers

  • Dedicated Children’s care and educational spaces

​

 

The special supporting structure of the large concert hall allows it to be acoustically decoupled:

 

a spring construction over a grid consisting of beams, which is formed above the foyer, allows it to be partially supported.

 

In addition, the suspension of the hall on truss girders, which rest on a overtrain, transfers the other part of the forces into eight thickened 90 cm supports.
